The Crewe Hero (Crewe Train Station)

The Crewe Hero

A lowly bar on a single platform at Crewe station, sees travellers of all walks of life dropping in for a quick half an hour to drank a hot or cold drink as they make their way up to Northern front’s for the weekend. Inside, a very loud radio blairs out sounds and songs in a crackley and distrssed fashion. A random pool table sits int he middle of the room, looking like no traveller has ever had to wait long enough in this bar to use it. Overhead some terrible, unwatchable television flashes in our eyes. At the front of the venue the bar is not very well stocked, and why would it be? No-one here it seems is after a big night out. The carpet, walked on by countless souls, it’s just travellors and lights that make it feel like a long but shallow front room overlooking a rather empty but modern through-station.

Overall, having been to a few station bars, this one isnt not too bad, especially with a feature like a pool table. A little pricey at £4 for a glass of wine, but then who has the time to complain? An average 5/10
