O Neills

I am normally quite the fan of this particular chain of bars/pubs and this one felt much like the others with big polished wooden tables and floors. This venue however had a long rounded bar which trailed off into the secluded dark ended corners of the pub. The bar staff were not friendly but that may have been because i ventured here during the day and they were hard worked from the evening shift before. The wine cost about seven pounds a bottle which seemed pricey for the area and the place is set on two floors which I thought was made for more seating but since I never ventured up there I am told the toilets are located here only. The music however was depressing blues stuff but then it was the middle of the day.

Overall a 4/10, rather on the low side for an O Neils

I would like to say how wrong u are. The music for a start is not depressing blues stuff its alternative rock. So much for having 2 floors to make more seating, the upstairs is designated to toilets only.

Are you sure youve even visited this place?

PS The bar staff are very friendly. Maybe u were having a stressful day.

I completely disagree too. The bar staff are absolutely lovely and the music is always great. It’s a friendly environment and a bottle of wine is appx £6.50 - I’m not sure how anyone could call that pricey - perhaps you were having a bad day?

Yep this pub is great, chilled atmosphere and great bands play there, also bar staff are very friendly in my experience and even came to table to ask if we wanted more drinks!! you dont get that much at 9pm in the evening!

Visited O Neils Woking 19th March.

Was short measured Guinness and when asking for it to be topped up was refused as i had taken a sip from the glass. This despite the sign which invited you to ask for a top up if you are unhappy with your pint.

At the same visit my partner was not happy with the taste of the Vodka and coke, thought it may have been mis poured a barcardi?

Was informed by the bar staff that she was wrong and it was in fact vodka as requested?

My partner maintained she was not happy with the taste so i took the decision to return the drinks almost untouched and to point out that i was not looking for something for nothing and therefore was not looking for my money back.

I am unlikely to return to this or any branch of O Neils as i find this level of service poor.

The best bar in Woking, well known for its great location and customers. never any trouble in this pub and the bouncers are talkative. Was even better when it was run by a woman called Kate but still the best venue in Woking. Frequented by many celebrities who do panto in Woking
