TGI Friday’s Diner (Leicester Square - London)

TGI Friday’s Diner

The tourist trap of Leicester square attracts tourists in full force and TGI Friday’s is one of those venues who pulls the most business from them. The overly cheery, americanised staff in the foyer, greet and drag you off into the depths of this large, multi platform, tiered restaurant that places a bar in the centre of the room and booths and long tables around the outside. The menu sounds interesting enough with a lot on offer but at inflated prices but when the food comes out it is disappointing, fried and overdone and in portions which are too large to stomach, it feels like the kitchen staff put no passion into the food and this must be true - serving up the same dishes year after year as they have done, but the Jack Daniels sauce remains a favourite.

Overall this particular member of the american diner chain puts on a big smile for a dying format that perhaps tourists respond to but forget having a work lunch here - disappointment reigns true when there are fifty places up the road that better this place in every department except for the waitresses desperation for a tip - 3/10

You fail to review the drinks available or the bar area, this chain originated as a bar. This particular restaurant has an awesome bar tended by some enthusiastic and very talented bartenders, on a recent visit there were flair displays from All the bar team including a bar back. I’m assured that the team are very highly trained and each know well over 250 cocktails. Tgi offer industry leading training and trained the bartenders behind many bars you enjoy, including b@1. Give the bar another chance even if you eat before you go.
