Stef’s Italian Restaurant and Coffee House (Berners Street - London)

Stef’s Italian Restaurant and Coffee House

Just a short march away from the Plaza on Oxford street is “Stef’s”, a coffee shop with more than just Mocha’s and Lattes. Stef’s is a spacious but average sized restaurant where the casual mood about the place sits coffee drinkers next to diners of the Italian cuisine. The venue is popular with business folk who, during the week conduct meetings in its high backed booths and uncomfortable dark wooden, traditional Italian chairs. The staff do not extend warmth to a smile and coffee is presented in cups of curiosity. The approach to the delicate drinking of such beverages leaves the diner and drinker a little confused, playing the upper hand to the entrant with the “usual table” and “usual coffee”. You would not think that such a power-play of coffee houses was planted so close to a tourist center as this but you would be wrong.

Overall a nicely laid out venue with an atmosphere of class and superiority without the food menu to match - nor comfort in tow - 4/10
