Ping Pong Dim Sum

Bringing the class of dim sum up in and around the west end is an important thing and ping pong is leading with its flagship venue. With close proximity to Oxford street ping pong demonstrates how Chinese and Asian food reaches a different quality in Fitzrovia compared to those in Soho. Inside ping pong is a very modern stylised restaurant with simplistic but bright decor. The staff are friendly but not quite attentive enough to astound. The bar and kitchen areas are exposed into the main restaurant and bring a open plan effect to the place. The menu is selective but small, the food is very satisfying and pretty, even strange sounding foods such as the beetroot pastries are enticing and the mango in coconut cream desert works nicely. Prices are very reasonable and I highly recommend the lunchtime set menu.
Overall ping pong is a fine, friendly, tastey and attractive restaurant and works well for a date where there is no need to overly impress - one of my more favoured restaurants in town 8/10
