Patara Thai Restaurant

This famed Thai restaurant on Greek street in one of the quieter spots of Soho has an interesting and admirable set of qualities. The front part of the interior is a selection of couch like booths which serve as a rather tranquil waiting area before you are shown to your seat in the main room which is an elaborate hall area with excellent decor, slightly lowered lights for the romantic feel but with tales just a little too close to each other for privacy and intimacy. The menu is luxurious, expensive but well formed and balanced. The staff aren’t as attentive as one would expect from such a place but they are well mannered. It must be noted that the food is excellent in here, I have been back several times and found it a good place to bring a date for a romantic meal.

Overall patara serves its purpose as a quality showroom for its many so wonderful dishes but it needs to be larger and with slightly better service to challenge the greats but it may well be the best Thai place in Soho 8/10
