La Porchetta Pollo Bar

How often does a fantastic restaurant become a chain of good restaurants? Not very often for sure, yet here in the heart of Soho sits a branch of Muswell Hill’s infamous La Porchetta. The difference being that this venue is a tighter fit than jamming a herd of donkeys into the hole in the middle of a Polo mint. Cramped being the operative word and with slow, almost delirious serving staff the venue quickly loses its credibility. It is essentially a bad franchise yet the prices are more than reasonable for the food on offer. Alongside this one can expect tourists and uncomfortable rickety furniture with the added bonus of a badly tallied bill.
Overall its hard to fault the food, which remains, as the ingrediants suggest, well sourced and fully nourishing but it lacks on space, service and atmosphere and has done a crime to the chain itself which saddens me - 4/10
