Golden Pagoda Chinese Restaurant

Bright and colourful outside, this Chinese restaurant on the main Chinatown strip was my choice for a full on Chinese as a business lunch choice one sunny afternoon. A choice i no doubt regretted as i was led through the passable furnishings of the ground level restaurant into which i had peered from the street outside and from here i was led upstairs to a first floor and to a tables rickety and dull. The paper table cloth barely covered the table and looking around at the site of Chinese waiters barking at one another carrying armfuls of noodles from one dirty kitchen to another i began to feel a little sick. To get the lunch moving as quick as possible we select a set menu with duck. The meal passed without complaint except the poor quality of the food but it was not possible to consume in under an hour and we left full but unlikely to return.
Overall a quite cheap Chinese with hidden rooms upstairs ruining the dining experience for most, i didn’t get ill afterwards but they really need to they up their act - 3/10
