Grittz Italian Restaurant (High Barnet - London)

Grittz Italian Restaurant

Grittz used to be famed for its rock bottom lunchtime prices and big Italian pasta portions with clay-oven cooked pizzas. It used to bustle with peoples to such an extent they would rock out of the door for the five pound lunch deal. Today Grittz focuses more on the quality of its produce, the delivery of its service and catering for a more family friendly environment. This may all look good in the books but the atmosphere within really isn’t enough to come out here on the merit of its portion sizes alone and at least for younger people, the appeal has disappeared.

This all said, Grittz remains a hearty competitor to Pizza Express, its such a shorter walk up the high street and has slightly less class-connotations that come with the Pizza express chain, but it does not champion the greats, just fills the empty spot in your tummy - 6/10
