Cascades Bar

What better way to pass the time between flights that to stop off for a drink in a bar? Unlike most airport bars I really didn’t find this one very inviting. The chairs and tables were crammed together in front of the bar and in the moments between planting ourselves down and drawing a breath my party and I were asked for ID by an over-sized and very grumpy natured woman. Looking over at our passports she immediately demanded an order, setting down the washcloth she was working with to grab pen and paper. I managed a sneak at the menu to discover a large glass of wine at around £10 and blurted the fact out loud. I later learned this has been taken as my order and we were pretty much asked to pay before the glasses had first reached our lips. The astounding cost was met by us digging deep in pockets and building nothing short of the largest mountain of small change ever seen in the northern hemisphere. We were scowled at by the cleaning waitress who appear to taking away drinkers beverages before they had been finished, right up until our flight was called. No plane could have taken me away faster - 1/10
