Beach Boy’s Club

Never in my life have I walked into such an obvious attempt to pull in the cream of the underage crowd and bare-faced provide some of the poorest entertainment in Spain. The beach boys club is clearly the work of a few north England alcoholics opening a bar to stage a farce of northern stereotypes. In short its a massive dump  the occupants range in age from about 12 to about 70 where families come to knock back a few among underage drinkers with ultra cheesy music at the hands of a barmitzvah dj and a comedian whose attempt at stand-up made fools of himself and all the staff who work here.

The place is also badly decorated with Christmas lights plastic chairs and cheap garden furniture  outside. I wouldnt mind but the staff we also rude and the effect was shocking - an overall 2/10

interesting observation, was it you in the picture, who has obviously had a few too many, we two are critics, yes its cheesy, yes it’s not a professional comedian, but it serves a purpose brilliantly. Perhaps more pubs in the area should make as much effort as the beach boys bar, as we spent many a night there and had a fab time, we were made to feel at home and the bar staff couldn’t have been friendlier. We are in our forties, so are not young un’s, but found ages were varied and everyone was enjoying themselves including our nine year old son who loved it there and the bar staff made a tremendous fuss of him, which we appreciated.

I have been visiting Calella for the past three years and this particular establishment was one of the first we encountered. I have made good friends with the owner and the staff of this bar. My husband and myself are in our forties and have witnessed on several occasions underage drinkers being refused alcohol so as to serving youngsters what a load of crap. Brian and crew try to entertain all ages yes and if that is a crime so be it - I intend to visit again very soon and at the very least the new year and cannot wait to be greeted in the warmest possible way as all the times I have visited previously and that has been quite a few I can tell you. As for the writer of the initial comments get a life and enjoy it.

i visited calella may 2009, we came across the beach boys club by reccomendation and oh my god what a fantastic time we had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the team, brian, “flat cap” phil, rikki, sexy dexy and kenny were the greatest. how dare the above writer say that these people are rude!!!!!!! he seriously needs to get life. the lads, especially phil and rikki are among the most polite and friendly people i have ever met and they made my holiday memorable. i cant wait to go back and see them all. i had a wonderful time and am proud to call these people friends.

Been there a few times in the last couple of years and would say it the best bar in Calella. Im in my late thirties. My 2 teenage boys & my wife loved the place. Great sun terrace at the front which made it feel like 80+ degrees in April when probably only 60 or so. Good luck to the owners & staff for keeping a buzz about the place when most of the British visitors are probably sick of the entertainment at the all inclusives round the corner (including us!). Best grand national day ever despite not backing athe 100/1 winner.

I went to Spain a few weeks ago and was supposed to be in Lloret de Mar, through complications we ended up being in Callela.
After searching the whole place for a nice bar to go to on the first night we decided to go into a random pub for a few drinks and then to call it an early night. Unfortunatly, the bar we ended up in was a complete disgrace.

The second night we went for a wander and stumbled upon a sign saying “beach boys club” we entered the pub and was warmly greeted as soon as we stepped onto the terrace. The doors were opened for us and while walking to the bar the boys were making conversation.
Never have ever felt so comfortable after the first 5 minutes of being in a strange (unfamiliar) pub.
Every night (apart from one.. too too drunk to drink again) we were in that bar and on the last night Rikki and Stuart made us feel very glad that we had met them. They said they would miss us and that it was a true pleasure to have met us.
A nice group photo was taken of us and the staff.

The Beach Boys Club is a wonderful place, and very much a unique pub, which I am proud to say: I LOVE!

I worked at the Beach boys for two years and loved my time there Brian is brill and so are all the staff and NEVER did any of Brian’s staff serve to underages people. The place is clean and friendly what more could people of any age group want.

You are taking to biggest pile of crap I have ever seen on the web. I have been going to Spain for more years than I care to remember and Beach Boys is without doubt the best bar I have ever been to in that country. I am proud to say that Brian has, over the years, become a great personal friend and to see his bar ridiculed in such a manner has annoyed me. I have never never seen underage drinkers served at the bar. The staff no matter who they are have always been helpful and friendly. I have recommended Beach Boys to a lot of people and all have thanked me for pointing them in its direction. You, my friend, are a complete tool and should get out more.
