Glaciar Irish Bar (Barcelona - Spain)

Glaciar Irish Bar

Located in one of the top corners of this rather central square of Barcelona - just off the Ramblas, sits Glaciar bar. No one in our party seems to understand why exactly an Irish bar with a hint of American diner thrown in should have anything to do with ice caps but the venue is actually quite inviting. A sea of al fresco furniture fills the entrance in all its plastic glory leading into a large corner-filling marble bar, manned by a number of professional bar persons, who, at 2am seem intent on forcing us back outside while they shut up the shop. As such the service is fast, old black and white jazz photos are mounted on the walls and there is light jazz drifting in and out of my ears.

Overall the drinks consisted of good hearty Spanish beer, the prices were a tad on the steep side but the atmosphere was very warming and the venue is medium sized, with wide open frontage bringing in a light breeze while you sip away at cold refreshments - 6/10
