Hit Grill Bar and Restaurant

Beside a busy main road heading into the center of Novi Sad is a bar and grill, Serbian style. In fact the Greek influence really comes into play with a restaurant about as vegetarian friendly as an abattoir, the menu is jam packed with meat, carcasses and flesh, grilled fresh and served with heavy breads with kebabs cooked in a Greek style with all the influence of the Mediterranean. To make the venue seem more brutish, casinos and gambling shops sit either side of hit grill and a fast food window sits next to the front door of the restaurant. We sit outside beside a dripping drainpipe, with a view into main restaurant which is decorated in varnished woods, with an empty and poorly stocked bar. Out table is wet with grease and instead of music, listen to the gentle tap of water descending a tin drainpipe beside us. Before us sit families of meat eaters and enjoying a bottle of Becks for Breakfast we enjoy the view of the open road, take on the best of the meat odour and move on.
Overall a great place to go if you are a carnivore but it has plenty to drive sensitive types away and the drink is not the cheapest in the area for the kind of service you can expect – 3/10
