Exit Festival 2009 - VIP Bar

Beside the clock tower on the corner of the fortress in Novi Sad at Exit Festival 2009 sits a gated off area, from which are the most spectacular views of the city over the river. The area itself consists of a couple of bars with a wide service area, two DJ booths either side of the venue, umbrella coverage throughout, furniture designed for massive slumping, which jigsaws together to form large cog-like designs. The seating is almost completely empty - in fact the place is almost empty we find, sitting watching the sunrise from a circular couch surrounded by tiny glass side tables, littered in old bottles of beer. The attendants dance round, clearing up as the light of the sun begins to pour into the bar and I notice one or two performers who were on the main stage earlier that day.
Overall a very comfortable bar where relaxing is the order of the day and drinks can be bought with the exchange of traditional currency (unlike the token system of the rest of the festival) the downside is that with heavy security and passes required for entrance - you really just have to be lucky and catch lazy guards at 4am to get a peek inside - 8/10
