Betty Boop Coffeeshop

A friendly coffee shop in a little pedestrianised area in Amsterdam. Betty Boop’s has a neon sign of the famed 1930’s cartoon character and automatic doors which lead into a light wooden cabin with a steep spiral staircase at the back, high stools at the bar and along the sides of what is a very small venue. The bar staff are friendly and service is fast even at peak times. The shop serves up a limited number of non-alcoholic beverages alongside some pretty standard weed and hash hot chocolate (which goes down a treat). The atmosphere is calm, friendly and light which drives away any paranoia which may be lurking. The downside is that in the winter the automatic door has a mind of its own and can sit open for ten minutes or so with a hurricane of winds going on outside.
Overall a very communal feel with friendly people within, a small but cosy spot for a cafe but with a limited amount of memorabilia inside its difficult to work out how this gets away with being a themed coffeeshop - 7/10
