Blue Check Bar (Wembley - London)

Blue Check Bar

Soft woods, candle lit tables and a bar that looks like something out of a 90’s trendy American bar, the blue check is a change from the other offerings of Wembley and being that it is neighbours and old friends with Wembley stadium, you would assume it could pull the crowds. Well the restaurant part takes up about a third of the total floor space and other seating is just a few couches by the window. The barman is slow and incompetent and the staff in general seem unsure about how to do their own jobs. The drinks are a little too pricey for the area and although it is quiet mid-week I am told it gets rammed at the weekends, although brent council are looking to change the licensing laws in this area for opening hours during match and fixture days at the stadium.

Overall the sort of thing you would expect to see in Stanmore rather than Wembley, refreshing but out of place and the confusion of its identity comes out in the service of its staff and the atmosphere of the venue - 5/10
