Ruislip Rugby Club

A rather rowdy yet friendly bar coupled with a mess hall and gardens scattered with tired picnic benches sat before a Rugby field. Saturday afternoon can see some 60 odd lads fill this venue - large in stature, often with blood on the face and unspoilt smiles by a days game. Surprisingly football and not Rugby flickers away on the TVs overhead as the odd grunt comes out of the crowd and the whole room descends into uproar when a goal is missed. The drink is well priced and the bar is surprisingly upmarket, with touches of considered decor around the bar area. Drink deals include pitchers of beer at low prices. It is clear that this place gets a lot people through the door, bags of rugby kit litter the place on the way in and on the way out the lads scrum for exit onto coaches parked outside - I can’t imagine it is as busy when the team plays away.

Overall a very spirited club atmosphere perhaps threatening to those who pop in solely for the drink but then its all too likely you could get pulled into drinking matches of down pints of Bailey’s - 6/10
