The Star and Garter Pub

Nestled at the end of Poland Street, the Star and Garter has a bright and bold exterior, done in a rich colour of green. Inside the slim doors a medium sized pub awaits with a centralised bar in traditional setting and bar stools sitting around it, fitting neatly like jigsaw pieces. Along the side wall are tables and the pub is never too busy giving it a feel of spaciousness and comfort. The drinks are fairly pricey all being said, and one would wonder how it would compete with the low prices of the John Snow, just a stones throw away. The staff are not overly friendly, but then you wouldn’t expect them to be, given that I just bought a small swarm of people down on the place.

We stay for an hour or so and then take our leave, the pub leaves a well-rounded impression on us, comfortable and a good place to get in out of the cold, but a strange location and not the best offering for the drinker looking for a bargain - 5/10

the star is known amongst many of my drinking chums as the most expensive pub in london. i don’t think they are too far off.
