The Red Lion Pub

This pub is in fact exactly what this part of Soho needs. A nice traditional pub that escapes the high price racket that similar local bars appear to be involved in. Actually the problem with the red lion is that it doesn’t exactly advertise its presence and from afar its a little hard to spot. Inside however there is a fine simplistic lounge-like decor with a cheap but well maintained bar. Okay so all the beers come from the Sammy smiths independent brewery but it still pertains an air of class for those over the age of thirty which wholly lacks in all the other bars in the region. Everything from the fine carpets to polished wooden walls, friendly service and oddly shaped urinals suggests character and spurts appeal.

Overall the red lion is a very pleasant change felt in the purse and in the thicket of many more trendy London bars in this Soho spot but the red lion does well to steal the charm 7/10
