The Moonlighting Bar

Infamous for the clubnight called Cheapskates every wednesday offering drinks at 70p each including mixer with cheap beer by the bottle as well. This medium sized discoteque has character although it gets overcrowded all to often. The dancelfoor is small and the 360 bar is difficult to get served at. There is lots of couches and seating which even on the busiest nights is accessible. There is another bar towards the back and when it gets too hot there is a back outdoor area which isgreat for cooling off in during the summer months. The music is assorted but the only real set back is the quality of the alcohol which has left many vomitting, and not from excessive consumption but probably from methanol poisoning, so be careful. But it is ultimate heaven for anyone with only a tenner in their pocket (after the entrance fee). Sorted!

Overall 7/10. The bouncers are particularly harsh, I have waited outside for an hour before and been turned away right at the end.

I agree with everything except the seating. Unless you get there early you will not get a seat! Also the toilets are stupidly small. I found the bar staff to be pretty unfriendly and dismissive. I asked if they had Malibu and the barman said no and immediately went to serve someone else! I suppose you can’t really argue when the prices are that low but it puts a bit of a dampener on your night out.

i agree with ‘M’ the bouncers are harsh, if you are slightly rude, they’ll turn u away, (seen that before), the barmen are useless and it takes at least 20minutes to get a drink, toilets are tiny and crap, yet its cheap as fuck, everyone is there to have a laugh, and it does turn out to be a better then all right night… id recommend it if you hadnt, so then ull all ways hav that grin o ur face ‘yea.. iv been to ceap skates..’ open to all, so when your not a student, its a great way of redoing one of those messy nights…

When I went there the bouncers were fine, I was asked to show my uni card in addition to my ID but I did not have it and the bouncer let me right in. Also I was taken outside after got too drunk and was seen falling over inside and the bouncer outside got me a bottle of water and the head of security (i think) came out and got me a sandwich so they all seemed very nice when I was there. The venue is very small and the seating is not too bad and its probably best to get in early cos you dont have to wait so long for the que and you can get a seat although if your confident enough to go and talk to people you can probably get a seat even when its packed as i did and as for the music to be honest I dont remember much about the music lol.
