The John Snow Pub

A Samuel smiths pub tucked on to what mod would assume is one of the quieter roads of Soho with its cobbled streets and back alley location but the john snow is pretty packed. This two floor independent has a confusing layout on the ground floor built around a bar which is so dominating that one has to enter from different doors to access various sectioned off parts yet the venue is pretty small. With fast bar service downstairs to an even more crowded experience upstairs. This bar is a green lit room with much seating and red curtains but the venue just seems too crowded to really enjoy it. Drinks are quite cheap for the area which is probably why it is so appealing but then it does have a lot of character as well. It was nice to see that this branch of the chain was more willing to push their more obscure drink lines on a small blackboard by the bar, the bottle of cherry beer surprised me with the quality of its flavour.
Overall a popular pub with a good atmosphere packed into too small a space but one of the best of the chain for sure 7/10
