Intrepid Fox

Rumour has it that the owners of the previous and successful establishment that resided on Wardour street moved to this new venue to keep the punters happy. What has happened is that a bold and well established establishment has been tucked under the tallest most dominating building in the area and made to feel like a second class citizen of pubs. The place is very small now, literally a bar with a conservatory-like appendage to accommodate those individuals who feel that the alternative look is something that is well defined and the new intrepid fox sinks to standards undertaken by popular culture in any other bar in the country- no longer legendary the bright spotlights, skeletons on the wall and fast bar service means this has just become another themed pub.
However, there is nothing similar in the area for individuals who enjoy their rock music and Gothic accessories and the drink is very reasonably priced at £8.50 for a round of three pints. 6/10

I remember the pub on Wardour Street and that’s how I found this page. I wouldn’t say that it was a successful establishment towards the end of its time there. It seemed to often be empty.

I used to go to the old Intrepid Fox quite often and in a lot of ways miss that crazy place, but i wouldn’t be too harsh on the new venue either. It doesn’t have the same character as the old pub but it’s still full of the same interesting and fun people. I don’t think it is smaller than the old place, in fact i think it’s slightly bigger certainly down stairs and then of course they have an upstairs bar too.
By the way the bar staff are as quick as ever and just as friendly, i personally really like it there.

The new pub is actually A LOT bigger than the old place, and had the upstairs bar where we ejoy playing a game of pool. Staff are friendly and quick. The rock music is always great and the posters and the skeletons, spider, etc, the decor is the same - in fact it was all stuff that must have been brought from the old venue! The place has heart and soul - definitely not just another ‘themed pub’. Perhaps more punk music could be played though!

I had some good time at the old location, it was the place to go for all goth/ industrial/punk/alternative freaks. It was not very busy in the day but the atmophere was crazy at night. The pub was pretty well located at the time of goth nights at the Wag club or Gossips…some 15 yeras ago.I just saw the new pub last time i was in London but didn t get in for a pint.Next time…….
