The Windmill Pub

Turning through the back roads beside Regent Street and Mayfair one comes across the windmill, jammed in on a road no wider than an escalator. The place is packed with people standing outside merrily drinking away, some stumbling every which way, at what i notice is only 7pm this fine Thursday evening. There isn’t much room outside to stand or balance a pint though, and with cars using the road every few minutes we head inside to get out of danger. The Windmill is a very cosy lounge-like abode with rich red carpets, a small but practical bar at which service is fast and friendly. The pub has a sprinkling of small tables and hearty crowds and leading towards the back is a sort of dining room with canteen in soft lighting. Seating is a bit of a squeeze but the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is polished and cheery.
Overall the Windmill is a very friendly place and genuinely surprised me, apprently they also serve award winning pies and certainly greet all punters with a firm smile and a service worth coming back for - 7/10
