The Glass Bar

Feb 2009 - Glass Bar is now Closed
Glass Bar is stationed in a renowned side street just by Piccadilly circus station. Outside small bushes and large bouncers guard the entrance behind them. There is a wonderful effect on entry of passing through glass doors and then being greeted by a thick White (or on other trips of mine it has been black) curtain. Passing this you enter the bar itself, blacks and whites and simplistic low stools, and one or two tables are placed well in the room. The barmen at the bar are casually but well dressed and the place comes to live with its reflective surfaces. The bar fills but doesn’t pack but it is expensive at around to ten quid a cocktail and curiosities include video projected onto other curtains, the appearance of a large, empty back room, which unlike the rest of the bar is well lit. It is worth noting that the bar staff are very friendly but I am not sure if their English is always up to scratch. The menu features some very humorous cocktail names and the drinks themselves are amazingly prepared and delivered.
Overall a small bar which delivers a luxury experience which is not all that well known, so to hang with the posher types, spend a wad of notes or two on some of London’s finest cocktails – head to Glass Bar 8/10
