Vibe Bar (Brick Lane - London)

Vibe Bar

Sitting up there with some of the most controversially laid out bars in the city, the Vibe Bar sits innocently on Brick Lane looking like a concrete garden or playground from the road. Its a vibrancy of picnic tables drowning in a sea of trend-setters and young identity artists, which red carpet your entrance into a small tunnel like entrance , dark with furnishings around its corners and opens out into a wide bar with a low ceiling. The bar at the end offers up drinks on tap, cocktails and a good selection of spirits and isn’t overcrowded. The main room feels somewhat rock-inspired with people dotted among the tattoos. To the left of the main entrance is a foyer-like bricked area with uncomfortable seating an a flat screen with projector on one of the walls, the foyer also has a staircase which leads in and up into a projection room for sporting matches and looking up one can see people dancing in well lit windows above and down is an arty reception like area which would seem more in place in a theatre than at a bar.

Overall this place feels like it has essence of cultural superiority and investment unlike many of the scanty underground bars that brick lane is famous for in showcase but Vibe Bar is a big center for the well and cool and its rating is more a mark of respect than a like for the layout that has been chosen for this venue - 6/10
