Tabernacle Bar

The Tabernacle is set back behind central Old Street and the station but it is one of the more trendy places to inhabit among the vast variety of bars in the area. This venue is a bar with a restaurant in the back, the decor is very notably art deco style with a long bar running though the centre of what feels like an old brick-warehouse. Reds and oranges are used as colours in full force with odd shaped seats, tables and lighting fixtures. The barmen serve up some good cocktails at a very good price, happy hour being on the cards until 8pm. But the bar suffers from poor sound management skills - the cheesey music doesn’t suit the place and with no motivation to dance in the spacious clearings, the minimal seating can also be a problem.
Overall its not the atmosphere of the place which brings it to life but without a doubt the drinks and bar supply the smiles and the staff are relatively good at doing what they do best - serving up a storm - 6/10
