Palm Palace Shisha Bar

about a five minute walk from edgware road station the average pedestrian is hit with clouds of fruit flavoured smoke that bring a hearty smile and it just so happened that a source of much of that smoke was coming from the tribe of smokers sitting in front of palm palace. The venue is a rather exotically decorated two floor Egyptian diner. Delicately arranged cushioned chairs and sweet teas are the order of the day. Of course despite the lush interior we are here for shisha. The flavour selection is four or five fruits and we choose strawberry. Outside we are led to a table where only men appear to be smoking-the large pipes kept at floor height. The attendant changes the coals every few minutes so the smoke is kept strong and does not go bad. The staff aren’t particularly great at conversing in English but we eat the humus and drink banana milkshakes.

Overall a nice authentic edgware road experience-the seating feels a little in the way of pedestrians and its not super comfortable but the service is excellent 7/10

    Hi dere,

Good morning. I just got back from this place few minutes ago. We chatted for a while, drunk some nice tea fron a pot and my guest enjoyed a shisha at the same time. The pedestrian seating, inside the restaurant and the basement have very the same smells and colours. Upon our arrival at the den in the basement, no menu was offered to us. We took two things one shisha and a pot of mint tean for 3 people. Bill came to 25 pounds which I thought was rather cheeky for them tender. I asked the waiter to break it down, he said pay it up at the upper floor, 15 pounds for the shisha and 10 pounds for the pot of tea. I was very disappointed by the lack of vat a menu and vat receipt. So, I will have to write both to the local council and the vat office tomorrow without a fail. It is illegal to sell anything to a customer without a display of a menu prior to the service. I checked everywhere, there is no sign of a menu showing 10 pounds for a pot of tea. Staff were doing what they do at best, I wont’s blame them; the boss must very naive by having a place that does not give a receipt to it’s customers and basement unit that sells a tea for ten pounds without a menu. If I knew tea would have costed us ten pounds I would have gone a good Shwarma at Maroush instead. Very annoyed,,, me,,,

[...] Palm Palace Shisha Bar are well known and popular traditional venues. (For a refreshing concept, if you’re a smoker dare to venture down-stairs at the Palm Palace where I’ve heard it said the Shisha is still smoked inside!) It can never be said these men are boys, Oh No, they are all man! Take a look any night in the very plush Grosvenor Victoria Casino , a huge place offering food, drink and of course refuge for many discerning gentlemen. There is of course the usual array of gaming tables ranging from Black-Jack to Poker and even Russian Roulette from which many will try their luck. [...]

This place is a rip off as mentioned above, four of us went there couple of weeks ago, had 2 shisha and some tea, our bill was £60 without breakdown or any receipt. Avoid this place.

I went here for dinner last Monday with my two daughters and I found the staff to be very friendly. Service was excellent. So was the food, and very generous servings. My oldest daugher had lamb shank which she enjoyed, my youngest had mixed grill (great selection of kebabs) which tasted delicious, and I had mezes, aubergine, falafal and borek, all good. The drinks were a bit expensive, ayran and mint tea but the food I thought was very reasonably priced. Didn’t have shisha. Was made to feel so welcome we are going back again.

What are you saying Palms Palace is a rip off who ever says that is expensive dont come to edgware road then you all are ungrateful people who should be excluded from edgware road like carlos said if you look like a c*nt and chat a lot of sh*t then i encourage them to rip you off. if you do not have money then stay at your own cheap area. The shisha is the best, the service is great and also their staff. if you lookm like a c*nt of course they are going to pi*s all over you. And why are you all hating on the shop saying you going to call the council just becuse you are low lifes that why you do it.

bunch of freshies posting here who can’t make up proper sentences lol.

but edgware road is expensive, staff are a bit rude, they’re not rude because of the way you dress, whoever said that is dumb. you must be an idiot to be rude to someone just because the way they look and dress.

Their shisha isn’t all that, it’s ok but i’ve been to better places where the flavour lasts longer and the charcoal doesn’t make you choke or you have to changethe charcoal every 2/3mins.

Armandos you are amusing. The quality of food is acceptable, but as previously mentioned, the prices change often so it’s worth enquiring before ordering anything. The staff are not particualarly accommodating, but there are many places on the Road which are far worse. I wouldn’t recommend this place, but I wouldn’t steer you away either.
