The Conduit of Tybourne Bar

Thoroughly quaint, with hints of Victorianism, higher class and some of the loveliest wallpaper I have ever seen in a bar, the Conduit sits in some of the nicer roads beside Bond Street station. It attracts suited types and those in summer dresses and shirts, the odd hat even among the ladies who are middle aged and well spoken. The glass floor to ceiling windows making up more than half of this venue make it feel somewhat like a plush dining room as candles up as the sun falls. There is a good selection of continental beers on tap and the bar service is relatively good even if the bar is a little small. Pints are expensive but only as expensive as everywhere else in this lovely area.
Overall not for the party-goer, raver or young person by any degree, there are the types in boxes at the horses, speaking lightly on the subjects of found wealth amidst the charming decor and fond company, manges somehow to wildy avoid pretentious yet its got something missing, perhaps any recognition that this bar is suck in a time-warp from 100 years ago - 6/10

The Conduit Of Tybourne boasts a diverse bar, but they have NOT managed to ‘avoid pretentious’, and after having the owner pointed out to me, I am of no doubt that it is another fine example of ill-spent money trying to buy character and attempting to win over actual taste. My beer was just fine and just like one anywhere else in Marylebone. Nothing special - 4/10
