Sports Bar and Grill

Jogging into Marylebone station at top speed during the height of the Monopoly pub crawl I reach the usual face of the Victoria and Albert pub and am stopped dead in my tracks, hiding around the corner of the station in the far end was a new bar to my eyes. Looking back the rest of the crowd were catching up and I slyly invited everyone into this new venue. We entered first into a small unmanned bar and then to the left see a grander hall with a long bar and kitchens to the left and occupying the rest of the room; a sea of tables, few occupied. From the ceiling some pretty impressive lighting and about the place TVs show the sport of the hour. Approaching the bar we found the bar staff to be friendly and well mannered, the drinks were a reasonable price and the service was fast. The bar also opened up downstairs continuing the theme of the grand hall into which the idea of a sports bar didn’t really fit. We headed out the glass doors at what we realised was the front of the venue upon drinking our drinks.
Overall I am not sure that the theme of sports really fits with what is quite a magnificent station bar, in fact I would be inclined to comment that this was one of the nicest bars in a station I have ever been to and doesn’t need to put paw prints on its image by inviting thuggish sports lovers to its immaculate hall of grandeur - 7/10
