The Well

The Well has now perminantly closed down (Thankfully!)

When a pub lives up it’s name it can be a wonderful thing but “the well” is “the pits”. It sits quite quietly on edge of the high street in Muswell hill and within is a bar with a bad selection of drinks (except the whisky is apparently respectable) one of two fruit machines and a pool table. The residents are a panel of individuals in their early thirties who like nothing more than a pint and a line, or heap, for which the disabled toilet is the designated establishment since the main toilets lights don’t work. The back are falling off the seats, i notice as the punters begin to pass out one by one <pictures below>. One gentleman, who could be homeless has his footwear stolen from him as he snores. Loud spouts of verbal abuse ring out all over the small pub and at one point an ex-con called “Bazza” tries to attack the bar woman, using anti-semitic curses before claiming he is off to use the darkened toilet to inject heroin into his arms.

Overall a complete disaster of a venue which likely will not see very many more days before raids shut its doors for good, at least they have cider on tap.. 1/10

Kindly let me introduce myself. My name is Stephen Alcorn. I am the artist that created the very image that adorns your tavern sign. As the creator of (and sole owner of the complete rights to) said image, I object to your use of my work without my prior, written consent.

It is in a spirit of cooperation that I hereby invite you to explain how such a transgression took place in the first place, the ultimate goal being to arrive at mutually acceptable terms–terms that would allow you to continue featuring my imagery in the context of your tavern.

    Please advise ASAP.

    Sincerely,

    Stephen Alcorn
