Vanilla Bar (Great Tichfield Street - London)

Vanilla Bar

Sitting silently on the road outside, where even on a busy London Friday night, few souls are to be seen, sits the smart entrance to vanilla. Inside, a small room with a staircase down to the basement, silence is dominating. At the end of the steps another doorway into a very heavenly lounge. Purest whites are used on furniture and walls, neon under-lighting in pink and blue and red velvet in the corners. Vanilla is accessible only by booking so it is important to do so. The effect is very upmarket, very romantic, undiscovered and quite private-with few other drinkers in the room. The cocktails are amazing to both the eye and the taste buds. The wine falls at quite a high budget but is not over priced and the table service is second to none. You are literally guided to a table like a piece of artwork being placed in a museum.

Overall vanilla is a stunning and completely impressive cocktail lounge that visually blows the pants off of the competition, could do with being a little more accessible but even the music is strangely seductive - 9/10
