The Crazy Bear Bar

The Crazy bear bar is one of my favourties in London. It is a well hidden bar combined with a small hotel and restaurant near Charlotte Street and Goodge Street station. From the name you might expect hordes of teddy bears inside but instead you get a multi tier exclusive bar. Starting at the top of a small mirrored staircase you are led inside (providing you have booked) down into a very swank and sheek venue. Animal rugs are thrown on all surfaces in accordance with the theme of the bar and strangly the bar is at a lower level than the rest of the venue so you feel like you sit very low at the bar and its a very odd sensation. The place also has a low ceiling and private booths which look pucker deep in the basement. The management insist on no standing, they occupy only to the number of seats available. The venue is a little bit too small however to have th emost fantastic of eveniungs so it doenst really suit past one or two beverages but the cocktails, which are quite amazing, are around £9 each.
Overall my favourite part of this bar are the toilets, truely psycadelic in every sense of the word, you stumble around inside blind, no door handles, very low lighting and shimmering walls, communal hole-in-the-wall wash basin and invisible urinals turns a trip to the toilet into you worrying your drink was spiked. A wonderful experience but its becoming a little too high brow for a crowd that might actaully enjoy how fun it is - 8/10

My daughter took me to Crazy Bear last saturday on my visit to London , loved it from the minute I walked in. They have changed the seats from animal skins to very chic white leather and ornate metal stools. The walls are red or black leather and the seating at the bar is very low. My daughter insited I went to the loo and what an experience, gloomy lighting and mirrored walls and shared (with the men on the other side of the wall) long and blue basin with waterfall and lights. An experience to remember …. as well as the service which was excellent. Must do it again.
