Manouche Wine Bar

Manouche is a wine bar that lives on the downstairs floor of goodge and Mortimer street. The wine selection as one would expect is pretty thorough and there is also a good selection of more run of the mill drinks. This venue is very simplistic and dark. It is quiet even of a weekend evening which adds to its curiosity. Initially the Bar man seems to be a man who knows all takes his sweet time to serve if you take more than a moment to choose a beverage. After a brisk falling out we learn that The barman is some alcoholic so he tells us with the dream of drinking all day in a basement of his own making. The venue does have a lot if character when coupled with its owner with a quiet wild western saloon quality. The venue also attracts some fit girls who seem drawn in by one or two good characters.

The place has a lot of life and a charm of its own despite being expensive and empty. The bar man reels of tales of his adventures and although his speech is slurred he is somewhat of a legend bringing this surprising gem to a 7/10 a massive contrast from Mortimer’s down the road which sells itself as a real wine bar.
