Upstairs @ the N20

Although the downstairs of the N20 has changed hands more times than a five pound note, the upstairs remains a true establishment. It is a bar and restaurant combination venue with a good team of chefs and experienced bar men. The proprietor walks around with a puffed up chest - proud of his work and runs a tight shift. The bar sits at the front of what is a large room in the loft of this building, with chairs and tables at the back for dining. The drinks are quite expensive but cocktails are good and the wine is well sourced. The problem with the N20 is its distance from good transport links (except the odd bus) and for a bar, being away from trains and town means less alcohol sales so its a wonder how this place has been alive so long. Basically it remains very popular with the over 40’s crowd.

Overall N20 is just not the sort of venue you descend on for a mad night, it seems its staff are more refined party animals than the clientele who come for a good meal and a cocktail, which is fine if that is what you are after but I question if it will fight on and survive hard economic times - 5/10
