Old White Lion
Situated beside East Finchley station, this rather large pub is shadowed by a large bridge that makes it way over head and darkens the outside of the building. Inside is a spacious airy environment with quiet music with the building split into two areas. The left side of the front door is more spacious and accommodating with a closer proximity to the bar. There is plenty of seating and fast serving times even if it is a little on the expensive side.
Overall a simple 5/10.

FAST SERVING TIMES?!! You clearly haven’t paid a visit recently…although the food service is admittedly quick once it’s ordered, the service at the bar is universally slow, even when the pub is near-empty. On the upside: the selection of real ales is usually the best in the area; ditto for the eye candy(!); the interior feels spacious and relaxing; the music is generally well selected and not too loud; they have a late licence (up to 1:00 am) on Friday and Saturday nights.

I’m pleased to report that, based on more recent visits, the service has improved beyond recognition!
