Sir John Oldcastle

This wetherspoons is a large floorspace with a pub on top, its windows peering onto all sides of the street, ebing perched on a corner and it plays host to a bustling but not overcrowded community foundation for the area. The bar service is fast but after finding a bottle cap at the bottom of my pint glass (it could only have come from one of the barmen) my night turned sour and I realised the incompetance of the staff and once a small chinese man started harassing me with pornographic dvds I came to realise that this wasnt a pub sat on the street, it was worse that sitting on the street outside with a pint in hand. Mannerless, rude and with a cold london shoulder this apparently niceish looking pub is unwelcoming and avoided with pride.

Overall not a nice experience but my one-off incident with the bottle cap was one in a whole heap of incidents i observed and wetherspoons would do well to brush pubs like this from its proud trophy cabinet of larger and more central venues - 3/10
