The Dun-A-Ri Bar

Quite the speckled name for what is quite sincerely, your average irish bar among Kings Cross’s supermarkets and corner shops. At the door stand a few bouncers who seem too engaged with one another to care who comes in the tiny side doors that they are being paid to protect. Inside is a small but very loud pub with a dingy, tavern-like feeling stolen from the 14th century, a small bar, enoguh room to stand and rock ones hips and some rather shabby looking toilets. I enter into the middle of what feels like a private party, the disco lights and thudding music, the likes of which genre is undetectable.
Overall this little pub does seem to have a lot of life in it but it is little more than a rowdy mashup of friday night dancing and heavy drinking, far nicer pubs exist and have always existed in these parts - 2/10

I am a local in the area and do not appreciate your comments. The landlord recently had the place renovated and it is completely different. I have been drinking here for the last couple of years and have always found the staff friendly and the atmosphere pleasant. My husband says they have the best lager in London.
