Thai Silk Bar and Restaurant

A large restaurant bar combination unit based on the inside circle of the walkway around the inside of the O2 entertainment dome in south east London, just by the river. Thai silk is pretty big and many of its tables and seating remain empty between the enormous pillars dotted here and there keeping the millennium dome (as it was once known) standing tall. We are led inside by a Chinese woman who seats us at a table where a long black booth-like seat runs the full length of the side wall. The table is fairly well laid out but it doesn’t feel too up market, the cheap lunch deal actually caused us to step inside. We are served fairly quickly but the food isn’t particularly great and halfway through the meal a crowd of teenage girls is parked next to us, blaring their mouths of in disgrace of one another and causing a ruckus. The rest of the bar saw an old man drinking and eating on his own and and a rather grand looking bar, lit up with curious lighting effects in a night-club style.
Overall Thai silk is probably a better evening venue than a lunchtime place to settle, the upper floor is also pretty decedent and would likely serve big groups of diners during a major gig occurring at the dome of an evening - 5/10
