Meridian Line Bar

Situated in terminal one of London City Airport is a birds nest bar sitting opposite the security checkpoint at the top of the stairs of the entrance hall. Entrance to this oddly shaped bar is complicated and reminds me of a tiny countryside hedge-maze as we find ourselves walking around the parameter rather than heading straight inside. Once sat down at rather uncomfortable seats, just outside the entrance to a dark wood interior among plastic looking shrubs. The menu features luxury items such as a champagne breakfast at 25quid a half bottle of standard fizz. The bar and waiting staff are rather useless with their heads in the clouds and not particularly bothered about what is ordered. I can report that the breakfast muffins are pretty good but this place is incredibly overpriced although at least it has its charm.

Overall a quite nice place to sit and have a light beer with breakfast, even slipping as far as champagne, but the entrance is confusing and the staff could do with some improvements - 6/10
