HaHa Bar and Restaurant

I thought that most HaHa bars had had their day, so I was surprised to see an addition to the chain in the premier entertainment centre of the O2 in Greenwich - South London. Entering off the curricular walkway; perimeter of the giant venue - the HaHa bar has a wide bar and a room which leads off to the left hand side of the entrance. The place is pretty empty even for a Saturday afternoon as we head up to the bar for a drink. The costs were staggering, so much so that we order juices and pop ourselves on high stools at a wet table by the bar. Beside us a flock of aging women appear with mock bowler hats and Michael Jackson sparkling gloves, the sight is a bitter one and we neck our drinks before the silence of the room eats us from inside out.

Overall a place without atmosphere, value or glamour. it is hard to see how this is anything more than a place to wet the whistle - but there is little choice if you are drinking before going to watch acts in the arena beyond - 2/10
