The New Crown

this popular wetherspoons is very similar to the Admiral Byng in Potters Bar except for one major factor, the crowd. The crowd in Southgate is always up for a fight and the New Crown can never help but be in the center of things. Don’t get me wrong the whole place: food, drink, prices, toilets and serving times are all good you just keep a hand on your wallet and your eyes to the ground when you’re in this place, but mind you dont spill your drink on one of the resident hermits. he’ll cut ya!

Overall a timid 7/10, flee, flee!!!

Personally, I think Greg Has never drunk in a REAL bar and has no clue what makes a bar, probably as he is shooed out of his own local for being a big girl. What does he do with his time apart from tour the country visiting community pubs ONCE and drawing conclusions on one drink, probably during the working day when the rest of us are qorking hard to support him. A bar is made up of community and can only really be appreciated once someone has become part of that community or at least attempt to talk to locals and staff. It would appear you have not done this. For example, your rating of the Jester in cockfosters is a disgusting misrepresntation of the beauty of this pub. Im guessing you went in and spoke down to the staff and turned your nose up at the area. The jester has been a local pub for a long many years run by A lovely fellow Irish man named Noel. The pub is a local for the saracens RFC as well as Hadley Golf club and numerous local families. Many people visit this pub and enjoy the local atmosphere and banter. It is obvious that GREG does not know what banter is, possibly because he has yet to make a friend in a but by talking. Im sure ive seen him walking around with a white glove, jurning his nose up at the choices on the juke box. Grow up Greg and stay a while, have a chat, and let us take the piss out of you.
