Adventure Bar (+venture)

Just down the road from Balham overground is the original adventure bar.this venue has a bar at the front and most of its seating in the back. It’s happy hour policies draw ever larger crowds as the evening stretches on but even at 6pm its hard to grab a seat. Adventure has loud music that u can just about talk over, a jager machine and a flurry of one of the most well stocked bars around. The menu is vast, the cocktails strong and affordable. The downside is one or two guys at the bar. The primary role of the barman is to serve and not make the customer feel like they are really having to work to get what they want. Chris, a long haired barman tells me he cannot be bothered to make me his signature cocktail like i ask and tells me he will just prepare the easiest. After insulting a friend of mine i watch him run his fingers through his hair before handling the ice in a punters drink.

Without pushing too hard to lay claim that some people spoiled the evening, personality can sometimes overshadow what is essentially a good cocktail bar-if only we had these in north London - 7/10
