The Liberties Bar

On entry one would expect a bar like atmosphere- perhaps rowdy and dowdy, bright lights and disco music but no, this place was only moderately busy for a Saturday night, with soft candlelight and reggae and light chill-out hits on in the background. you could easily hear yourself talk over the music which was wonderful and there were plenty of empty seats. The drinks are a little expensive at £2.80 a pint but if you ask for a bag of crisps they serve them up to you in a wooden bowl which I felt was quaint. The back of the bar was stacked with a massive array of miniatures and the whole room is shaped around the bar before it trails off to the narrow narrow toilets (clean none-the-less). The staff were very friendly and it felt like a world away from the buzz of Camden.

Overall a nice warm up to a big evening especially if there is romance in the air: 7/10.
