The Crescent

For once i have to say that it is a breath of fresh air to have this chain-pub in this location, opposite the music venue KOKO, the Crescent offers its drinkers the chance to get in a few well-priced drinks, and some rather rank bottles of wine before hitting the harder prices over the road. The crescent, as such remains popular, the service time, predictably slow and the layout of the place actually quite inviting and comfortable despite being busy. A raised platform sits at the far back of the pub with booths and you would do well to commandeer one of these although the crescent is one of those pubs where you drink, then move on, so a booth can quickly come available. The crowd is more “trendy” when compared with the rest of Camden and more more likened to Euston revellers than goths or punks traditionally associated with the area.

Overall a nice place to have a quick drink but like all other chain pubs it wouldn’t be a place you’d be glad to spend all night - although it does have a little of its own charm its not enough to hold me or a whole crowd in one place all night- 6/10

Really like the pub but the ladies loos were a right let down..they really ought to check on them more often. It was rather digusting.

I pop- in for a quick snack and a beer with my girlfriend before a venue at Koko and I found the rudest and most unprofessional staff ever.
After 30 minutes waiting for it they came with a disgusting club sandwich (£4,75 and nothing to do with the picture on the menu) with just a little raw chicken in it, bit of mayo, non toasted bread and not even cut in half with a napkin.
I asked the waiter (an inexperienced teenager as the rest of staff with a “colourful hair” and lot of attitude) for a knife and after looking at me with “like eating shit face” shouted: What for!! I pointed at the sandwich and he went inside the kitchen coming back in two seconds to tell me “we don’t have anything like that in here” and walked away.
Stupid of me to think I could get a knife in a pub that serve food!
The fried mushrooms where still frozen, cold and full of water inside.
In sum the worst pub I’ve ever been.
That pub is a shame to Camden.
Management should consider to “clean up” that place if they want to keep the business.

It’s a pretty awful place but the drinks are cheap enough.

O.K. for a drink before visiting Koko, but the food here is awful.
I ordered a Tuna melt sandwich, which was tiny when it came, with a thin filling and a smattering of fries but more to the point was cold. When I told the waiter behind the bar he proceeded the slap his hand onto the top of the sandwich to check! Nice touch. I was told I would get another one but decided to cancel the order completely. I can only imagine what would have happened had I order the soup…. Avoid. There are far better pubs nearby.

The one benefit of this pub is that it does serve London Pride, when one of the 12 year old staff members can be bothered to change the cask. I’d concur with the other posts re the level and attitude of service - an utter disgrace.
