The Barfly Club

This world renowned venue doesn’t really look like any kind of massive addition to the rock scene from the outside and actually inside it isn’t that large either. What the barfly does have is a little character. The venue is a split level affair which serves a a music venue for small bands midweek and a club at the weekends. The first floor has rather a wide sea to dance in and a bar at the far end, to the right is a cloakroom and toilets and then a staircase up to the second floor where there is a small searing area then a bar, dance area an stage. The staff are quite friendly, the drink prices quite reasonable and the music is always very cutting edge in whatever rock genre is growing in popularity. The toilets are not very hospitable and the venue can get quite overcrowded so drinks get spilt and you find yourself dancing in a puddle.

Overall the barfly is a good place to lend an ear to new music but it can get quite crowded although it is on the main road so access from both camden and chalk farm is easy but it doesn’t rate in the greats for me -6/10
