Monarch Bar

On the trot between Camden Town and Chalk Farm tube stations is the Monarch, a vibrant venue which pulls crowds for specialist club nights, guest DJs and drink deals. We head on over to this venue for White Wedding Club which sees a host of people in fancy dress for the cause of the club. The venue entrance is a narrow corridor guarded by a bouncer and cashier. Once you pay to get in the corridor bends to the left, past disabled toilets into a wooden floor, bright room with cosy lounge furniture and glass doors to a garden out the back. To the left there are stairs up to the mis-shapen bar, a dance floor and another door out of the venue next to the stage. There are stairs leading up to a small second floor and further toilets. The bar staff vary from the experienced to the outright clueless (i get asked what i want to drink by the same bar man 3 times after he sees me being served by anther when the place is half empty)

Overall the Monarch is a light hearted, average drink price venue which is worth visiting on club nights as long as things don’t get over sold like our White Wedding club did - 6/10
