Gilgamesh Bar and Restaurant

Gilgamesh is an absolutely stunning bar restaurant complex located beside the old Camden stables market, towering as a glass building, overshadowing the overground railway next to it. Up an escalator and down a hallway to the main reception desk the staff greet you among the Mayan temple-like display with eccentric wooden carvings and nooks and alleyways which place a private bar area around the side of a spiral staircase, a large restaurant floor with retractable roof, in a sea of sophisticated diners with some very comfortable booths and a fantastic looking bar. The bar area never seems full, probably because the place is so huge and the variety of drinks is very reasonable, the staff are a little more than friendly, sometimes unnervingly so, but the food is exotic and well presented and the evening falls to grace with beauty, charm and every detail immortalised in the glory of this magnificent complex.
Overall Gilgamesh is a fantastic place, the bar area could be a little more lively and the staff a little less intrusive on private conversation and company but there are very few flaws indeed, if you can afford the extravagance, splash out and enjoy the evening - 9/10
