The start of the monopoly pub crawl sees this pub busy from the first light of day any given Saturday in the calender despite the fact that it seems a drift out of the way of a central location. It’s basically a short bus ride from the station and without one can expect friendly bar staff - big booths to accommodate groups, a large central bar and friendly staff. The prices are also quite reasonable at £250 a pint and a double with mixer at £2.20. However the local feel of the place leaves it a bit gruff and the interior could do with a bit of a wax and a polish. A good start for the crawl but little to offer the thrill-seeking drinker.

Overall prices are good but it just doesn’t feel very hearty as a pub which makes you glow on the inside - still not a particularly bad word to say about the joint - 5/10
