Bar at Imax Cinema Waterloo

The Imax cinema in Waterloo is a centre-piece for the area and large and dominating as it is, some of its features leave a somewhat bad taste in the mouth. First off finding the entrance to Imax from above ground is impossible and I will shamefully admit I walked round the structure in the road for a good fifteen minutes before realising the entrance was beneath my feet. Finally I entered the building directly into the back doors of the bar area. The bar was a cheap and nasty charade of carpeted floors, covered in child’s dribble, litter and glasses. Families were in uproar amongst themselves and the place was packed. The bar itself had a very poor selection of drinks with the staff in candid Imax cinema uniform giving the venue no character at all.

In fact the bar just sat in one corner of the foyer for the cinema, it really wants a standalone entity and seemed to just be being used as an area to park the family while those that needed the toilet went and everyone else waited to be ushered upstairs for the film to start - 2/10
