The Albion Pub and Dining

The Albion replaces an O’Neills which used to reside in its place some time ago. The Albion tries to be a gastro commercial affair but it does come across as nice pub, quiet and laid back. With features such as pillars, carpets, a small wooden staircase and well equipped with middle aged and old folk. The toilets are noteably clean but since the music pumps into them louder than the rest of the venue you cant be sure where to dance, is dancing in toilets prohibited? Despite the attempt to dress up this venue it remains a fairly pretencious venue, the bar staff as slow and dispondant and the inhabitants appear to be enjoying what they feel is a posh location but is certainly in fancy dress for such a voice.

Overall it tries too hard to be nice and looks more like a bar-out-of-a-box than anything with any character - 4/10

Beer good; service lousy (staff are 12 year old corporate clones, natch); prices clearly reflect the cost of the refit!
